Ok, I am not use to this blogging thing. Already skipped a day! It was a busy day yesterday We went to visit our new nephew Max! The boys just loved him!
As you know, we are just starting homeschooling. Well, we are starting with preschool. My oldest is only 3. We have been working on learning how to write the letters, which now he knows how to write A, B, C and D, but it always seem to take forever to get him to sit down and pay attention. Then I was reading another homeschooling blog and the lady said something about how the first thing a preschooler needs to know is how to listen. Then it hit me. It doesn't matter if he knows how to write the letter now. I think he would benefit more from learning things like listening, which he is not very good at. So I came up with a 'listening game'. Jeremiah just loved this game. We got out his blocks and he had to listen and follow mommy's directions. Example.. pick up a blue block and stack a red block on top. Then, we said the date. I have a cute little wooden chart that has the day of the week, along with the month and the date. So we say that everyday so he can start learning dates. We also have a play clock. Everyday I teach him a new time. We just do the hours right now. Then we went outside and the boys played for a bit and then I decided to clean my van. The boys were very excited and wanted to help. I now try to turn everything into learning experiences. Even little things like cleaning the van can be a learning experience! Then it was lunch, nap, and off to my part time job. I work at an after school daycare from 2:00-5:30. Which is nice because the boys get to come with me and play with the school children and I can make a little extra money!
