Does it really matter how much we make??
I got to thinking and I don't think it matters how much money people make but how well people can control and budget their money. I remember when me and my husband first got married and we lived in a little one bedroom apartment. We both worked full time and had pretty decent paying jobs. We never had extra money. Sure we had more money to spend. We always found SOMETHING to spend our money on whether it was going out to eat, buying clothes we didn't need or just going to Target and spending $100 when we went in for just toilet paper. I look back and think, gosh we should have had LOTS of extra money! Now, we have two kids, a three bedroom house, husband works full time and I only work part time. Sometimes I think if I would have stayed at my full time job we would have so much extra money. But when I worked full time we didn't have tons of extra money. I am always at home trying to think of ways to make extra money but I think what we really need to work on first is controlling how we spend our money, know where every dollar goes each month and learn to stick to our budget. I want to start my Ebay business back up. When I was Ebaying I would make about $400 a month. Not a lot but it was something. If I could start that business back up and use that to pay towards our debt it would get stuff paid off so much faster. Of course when I was Ebaying, that $400 was just spent on stupid stuff. We went out to eat more and I shopped online more for stuff we didn't need. So it is time to get more control of our money!! And, Dave Ramsey always says that when couples go on a budget, they feel like they got a raise. Now I understand what he means.
